On July 16, 2010 Earl Scheib Inc. announced on its website that it is closing its doors nationwide. Some Earl Scheib stores will remain open but they will be:

“independently owned and operated by a person unaffiliated with Earl Scheib, Inc. Based on this change, customer warranties of Earl Scheib, Inc. will no longer be able to be honored at these stores or by Earl Scheib, Inc.“

At 1-Day Paint and Body we will do our best to honor any Earl Scheib estimate written since January 1, 2010. Although our paint systems and warranties are quite different we believe we can give you a superior value for your money.

1-Day Paint & Body Centers specializes in helping you get your auto painting done at discount prices. We also specialize in dent repairs. 1-Day is celebrating its 42nd anniversary and is proud of the fact that it has produced over 1-million paint jobs over the years.

Since 1967, 1-Day has expanded its operation to include:

• Insurance work, sometimes called automotive collision repair,
• Automotive spot painting
• Complete automotive paint jobs
• Color change packages
• Windshield and glass replacement
• Pinstripes
• Parts replacement
• Bodywork and dent repairs

In the early days (1950’s and 60’s), spot painting was unheard of. Back then auto painting referred to complete paint jobs where you painted the entire car. Back then paints were lacquers or synthetic enamels. These paints dried quickly and looked very shiny but they faded quickly and were not very durable.
